Dec.9 -- Recently, the first Zijin International IP Summit themed "IP and the innovation-oriented economic development" was opened in Nanjing. Governor of Jiangsu Province Shi Taifeng and Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office of the P.R.C (SIPO) Shen Changyu attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Shen Changyu said that it was important to locate the important pivot for intellectual property (IP) in the innovation-oriented economic development, as well as to explore an effective path for IP to boost the innovation-oriented economic development.
Director of the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) in China Chen Hongbing read the congratulatory letter sent by Director General of the WIPO Francis Gurry. Mayor of Nanjing Miao Ruilin and U.S. Consul General in Shanghai Hanscom Smith also delivered speeches. The opening ceremony was hosted by Wang Qi, Secretary-general of the People's Government of Jiangsu Province.
The Summit will facilitate discussion and communication on the prospective problems that IP will encounter in global economic integration and provide multi-dimensional analysis of the strategic thinking on IP integrating into economic development and related practices. It will last for two days and over 400 representatives from domestic and oversea government department, the business circle and the academia attended the summit.
